NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, located just 15 minutes from NYC, is an acute care teaching hospital academically affiliated with Weill-Cornell Medical College. Dedicated to providing high quality patient care to a diverse community, Lincoln Medical Center is a NYS designated Level I Trauma and Stroke Center and has Centers of Excellence in all medical specialties including its award-winning Cancer and Breast Centers.

Responsibilities:

We are currently seeking a full time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to work in a novel integrated program to provide mental health services to families residing in NYC's Domestic Violence Shelters. Psychiatric NP will provide a trauma and culturally-informed comprehensive mental health assessment and treatment to the adults and/or children residing in NYC’s DV Shelter System and to other survivors of Domestic Violence. This includes psychiatric assessment and consultation, psychopharmacological therapy and other treatment services as appropriate for survivors of domestic violence. The NP will be a part of a city–wide team of providers that also includes psychologists and social workers.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct clinical psychiatric evaluations of shelter clients referred by DV Shelter staff.
- Provide on-site and telehealth psychopharmacologic treatment when appropriate for clients.
- Conduct supportive, cognitive, interpersonal or other evidence-based individual and group-based psychotherapies for clients and families, when appropriate.
- Collaborate with shelter staff and program team on areas related to clients’ clinical needs. Assist in facilitating referral for more intensive psychiatric care when appropriate.
- Provide educational activities for shelter and affiliated agency staff on-site and web-based when appropriate.
- Participate in educational and supervision activities.
- Work with faculty and other team members to develop and implement tools for program evaluation to assess the impact of the added clinical services provided by this initiative for clients of the DV shelter.

Qualifications:

- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Master’s Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
- Licensed to practice as a NYS Nurse Practitioner with Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Familiarity with high-risk patients and cultural sensitivity in community settings.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred. Other languages a plus.
