Responsibilities:

The NICU Nurse Practitioner provides primary care to neonates including premature babies who need specific care due to a diverse range of disorders and abnormalities.

  • Adheres and conforms to all hospital and departmental guidelines, policies and procedures.

  • Taking care of the newborn in incubators.
  • Responsible for giving acute medical care to these infants especially in the absence of the doctor
  • Conducting lumbar punctures.
  • Insertion of intravenous lines securely.
  • Providing guidance and information to members of the neonatal team.
  • Provides parents on the appropriate methods via which they can care for newborn babies.
  • Counseling doctors and patients.
  • Provides round the clock supervision and care to infants.
  • All other duties as required by the department.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • NCLEX-RN
  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner License
  • Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination required prior to hire
