Advanced Practice (NP) - Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Medicine, Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant - Emergency Medicine

Job Details:

Provide coverage in the emergency department Monday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM with no on-call hours required
Assess and treat patients in the emergency department, perform triage, stabilization, and emergency procedures as required
Provide rapid clinical decision-making in high-pressure situations within a fast-paced, high acuity emergency department
Work collaboratively with nurses, specialists, and support staff to deliver high-quality care
Document patient interactions and treatment plans in the hospital's EMR system
Work in the main ER department with no dedicated fast track or express care
Cover Provider in Triage role when volume demands
Single PA/NP coverage working alongside 1-2 board-certified Emergency Medicine Physicians in the department
Expected patient encounters of 12-15 per shift plus handoffs
Ancillary services available to support the ED include Radiology, Laboratory, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Case Management, Physical Therapy, Mental Health, Trauma Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Infectious Disease, OBGYN, and Anesthesiology
Must hold current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan
State of Michigan controlled substance license and current DEA registration required
AHA approved BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications required
Must have experience as a PA/NP in an emergency department setting that includes both adults and children, as well as competence performing standard emergency department procedures

This facility is a Level 2 trauma center located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, offering a comprehensive range of emergency and specialty services. The emergency department consists of 19 beds plus additional hall beds as needed, and is supported by a robust team of board-certified Emergency Medicine Physicians. The facility provides access to a wide range of ancillary services including radiology, laboratory, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and multiple specialty departments to support high-quality patient care.
