Job Details

• Position: Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (Locum Tenens)
• Location: Marquette, Michigan 49855
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,260–$3,870
• Duration: 4 days
• Schedule: December 23 orientation, followed by December 24, 25, 26, and 27 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
• Shift Duration: 12-hour emergency room shifts
• On-Call: No on-call hours
• Setting: Emergency Department / Emergency Room
• Orientation: Provided prior to start
• Credentialing Timeframe: Estimated 45–90 days

Job Requirements

• Satisfactory completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Michigan
• Michigan controlled substance license required
• Current DEA registration required
• AHA-approved BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications
• Emergency department PA/NP experience required
• Experience caring for both adults and children in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department
• Comfort performing standard emergency medicine procedures
• Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in the emergency department
• Perform triage, stabilization, and emergency procedures as needed
• Provide rapid clinical decision-making in high-pressure situations
• Cover the Provider in Triage role when patient volume demands
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans accurately in the EMR
• Manage an average of 12–15 patient encounters per shift, plus handoffs
• Support safe, efficient patient flow in a single-provider coverage environment
