• Position: Critical Care Nurse Practitioner – Locum Tenens
• Location: Oakland, California 94602
• Start Date: December 7, 2026
• End Date: June 7, 2027
• Duration: 26 weeks
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:00); 5x8s may also be considered
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $5,040–$5,400
• Setting: Hospital
• Orientation: 8 hours
• Call: No call required
• Weekend Coverage: At least 4 weekend shifts per month required
• Charting System: EPIC

Qualifications

• Active California Nurse Practitioner license in hand at the time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of trauma care experience required
• Level I trauma experience strongly preferred
• Experience in ICU, ED, neurosurgery, or orthopedics will be considered
• Strong proficiency with arterial lines, central lines, and chest tubes preferred
• BLS and ACLS required
• DEA with California registration required
• Willingness to obtain ATLS within one year of start date
• Strong communication skills and responsiveness throughout the privileging process

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced practice care for critically ill and injured patients across the ED, floor, ICU, and related settings
• Support a high-volume trauma service caring for a broad patient population
• Evaluate, assess, and manage patients ranging from young adults to older adults
• Collaborate closely with physicians, residents, and interdisciplinary care team members
• Assist with management of shock, ACS, stroke, neurosurgical, orthopedic, and other complex conditions
• Deliver timely, patient-centered care in a busy trauma center environment
• Maintain accurate documentation and use EPIC for clinical charting
• Participate in scheduled weekend coverage and adapt to both day and night needs when required
