The Opportunity
A community emergency department in the Prime Healthcare Michigan group, running about 36,000 visits a year — roughly 1.8 to 2 patients an hour — across 32 main beds plus 6 fast track. The department has been through a substantial leadership-driven redevelopment during 2026, which is an unusual thing to be able to say about a community ED. No procedures are required in this role. Detroit metro access, suburban cost of living, and the airport close by.
What You'll Own
- Assisting the ED physicians across a 32-bed main department plus 6 fast track.

Must-Haves

- Michigan license, or eligibility in process

What Working Here Is Actually Like
- $130,000–$145,000 annually depending on shift mix, W-2.
- Full W-2 benefits. Medical, dental and vision from the first of the month after hire; employer-paid life at 1x salary up to $300,000; employer-paid long-term disability at 60% of salary; 401(k). The benefit plan year runs 1 October to 30 September.
- Malpractice and tail both covered. Tail is the one people forget to ask about until they leave.
- Epic.
- Full-time runs about 144–150 hours a month across roughly 12 shifts — a schedule with real days off in it.
- Physician-owned and physician-managed since 2012. When you escalate a problem, it reaches a physician who still works clinical shifts.
- Not a locums agency. An ongoing program position with a named, stable team.
- Detroit metro access with suburban living, affordable housing, major-airport proximity and Great Lakes recreation.
