We are seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for summer coverage due to parental leave.
Coverage Dates: July 1, 2026 โ August 31, 2026
Credentialing Timeline: 1โ2 months
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-supported Emergency Department team in a collaborative, physician-led environment.

Emergency Department Overview:
Total ED Beds: 8
Average Daily Volume: 45 patients/day
Admission Rate: ~80%
Daily Admissions from ED: 6%
Daily Transfers: 6%
Fast Track: No
Physician Group Size: 10 physicians
Trauma Designation: Critical Access Hospital
Patient Population: Pediatric through Adult (predominantly geriatric)
Facility Resources:
24/7 Radiology
24/7 Laboratory
AABB-Certified Blood Bank
24/7 Operating Room Availability
24/7 Anesthesia
General Surgery Services
Consulting Services Available:
Radiology, Critical Care, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Urology, Hematology/Oncology, Psychiatry
Clinical Responsibilities:
APP will work under direct physician supervision (no autonomous coverage)
Supervising physician present during assignment
APP will not respond to house codes (physician-only response)
ED staff respond to house codes
EKG interpretation performed by provider
ED monitors/supervises paramedics via radio
OB deliveries go directly to Labor & Delivery
On-Call Physician Response Requirement (per bylaws): 30 minutes
Required Qualifications:
Board Certified through NCCPA (PA) or AANP (NP)
Active Massachusetts license or willing to apply
Minimum 2 years Emergency Room experience โ No new graduates
ACLS Certification
