Emergency Department APP
McLaren Greater Lansing is building a float pool of Advanced Practice Providers (NPs/PAs) to support its Level III Emergency Department. APPs will function independently in the Fast Track area while working alongside attending emergency physicians and residents.

Annual ED volume: ~40,150 visits

Average 110 patients per day, divided among providers

50-bed ED
-
20% admission rate from ED
-
Approximately 60% of hospital admissions originate from the ED

EMR: Cerner
APP Role & Responsibilities
-
Independent coverage of Fast Track (“VUE”), a 10-bed area within the ED
-
Attending physicians available 24/7 for consultation and case review
-
No supervision required for resident cases (handled by physicians)
-
Fast Track patients may transition to main ED as needed
Schedule & Coverage
-
One APP shift daily: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM, 7 days/week
-
Single physician coverage from 2:00 AM – 8:00 AM
-
Peak physician coverage from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (3 physicians on duty)

Emergency Medicine residents cover an average of two shifts per day at varied times

Requirements
-
Board Certified NP or PA
-
Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
-
Active Michigan medical license (IMLC not accepted)

DEA (verbal confirmation at name clear)
-
ACLS and ATLS certifications
-
Clean background for expedited credentialing
-
Must be local provider (required, no exceptions)
-
NPDB self-query within 30 days at presentation
Credentialing & Compliance

Immunization and occupational health clearance required:
-
Hep B, MMR, Varicella (vaccines or titers)

Current season Flu
-
COVID documentation
-
TB within 12 months
-
Tdap within 10 years

Site uses DocTime for clock-in/clock-out (no timesheets accepted)
