Pay: $115.00-135.00 per hour
Assignment Length:
- Initial 6-month contract

Details:
- 25-bed critical access hospital
- Coverage for ED and UC
- Flexible schedule
- Average census ED 31 PPD, UC 33 PPD
- Advanced procedures available but not required
- EMR: EPIC
- Credentialing: 90 days
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and NP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
Requirements
Education:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
Licenses & Certifications:
- Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Wisconsin
- National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
- Active AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
- Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions
- Time management skills to manage a patient workload efficiently
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team
Experience:
- While specific requirements may vary, most locum NP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
- Locum tenens NP positions are temporary assignments, often lasting weeks or months, to address staffing shortages in hospitals, surgical centers or other healthcare facilities
- These positions offer competitive pay and flexible schedules, allowing NP to pursue diverse work environments and control their workload
