Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Opportunity in Opelousas, Louisiana

StaffMed Health Partners has partnered with a respected healthcare system in Louisiana to recruit dedicated Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for their Emergency Department in the Opelousas area. This community-based Emergency Department sees approximately 26,000 patient visits annually and offers a supportive, team-oriented environment with strong physician collaboration.

Position Highlights

• Provide comprehensive emergency care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for diverse patient populations
• Collaborate with board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians and nursing staff to manage both acute and non-acute cases
• Order and interpret laboratory and imaging studies to guide clinical decision-making
• Perform emergency procedures within the APP scope of practice
• Document and track patient care using Cerner EMR
• 12-hour APP shifts (9 AM – 9 PM) working alongside 24-hour physician coverage

Qualifications

• Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with active Louisiana license and prescriptive authority
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care preferred
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, and clinical decision-making skills
