Job description We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a 365-day locum tenens assignment in Massachusetts. This opportunity begins on Feb 1, 2025, and features day shifts from 9am to 10pm, including holidays. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality, patient-centered acute care to individuals with complex medical needs, working closely with integrated healthcare teams.

  • Schedule: 9am-10pm, 365 days per year including holidays

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide patient-centered, high-quality acute care in place to individuals with complex medical needs per clinical protocols
  • Work collaboratively with mobile integrated healthcare clinicians (paramedics and EMTs) and other team members
  • Participate in biannual performance reviews
  • Attend scheduled operational or clinical meetings, as available, to stay informed on program and company updates relevant to clinical practice
  • Collaborate with other virtual medical clinicians and care coordination teams, particularly regarding visit volumes and clinical questions
  • Offer clinical and operational feedback to management to enhance care delivery
  • Communicate with referring care partners and primary care providers as needed
  • Document all patient encounters in Athenahealth EMR completely, accurately, and in a timely manner, including relevant data, medical decision making, and follow-up needs

Additional Information
  • Masters of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice required
  • Active board certification in Family Practice, Acute Care, or Adult-Gerontology
  • Minimum of five years of independent Nurse Practitioner experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Must be licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Massachusetts
