Physician Assistant – Urgent Care / Emergency Medicine (Full-Time Position – LOCUMS TO PERMANENT)
We are seeking a highly qualified Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team, with opportunities for full-time employment through a locums-to-permanent pathway. This role requires a dedicated professional capable of providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary provider for adult and pediatric patients (age 6 months and up) in an urgent care setting, managing a diverse spectrum of cases including minor procedures such as laceration repair, I&D, and ear irrigation.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, diagnose illnesses, and develop appropriate treatment plans independently.
- Utilize the EPIC electronic health record system efficiently for all documentation and billing requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with a support team comprising medical assistants, center managers, and supervising physicians.
- Maintain clinical competency through ongoing training and adherence to established protocols and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
- NCCPA certification and current state licensure to practice in North Carolina.
- Minimum of 12 months of clinical experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or a similar fast-paced environment.
- Board certification required (e.g., NCCPA, state-specific).
- Valid BLS certification.
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR preferred; training will be provided.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage patient interactions independently.
- Ability to work within a support team and demonstrate strong soft skills.
Additional Details:
- Willing to support multiple clinical sites within approximately a 65-mile radius from your residence.
- No call requirements; supervision provided by a designated supervising physician for APPs.
- No travel or accommodations reimbursement; mileage reimbursement available.
- The clinical team includes center managers, medical assistants, and physician support.
