Job description
Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Trauma Service Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with Trauma experience for a position at a Level II Trauma Center. Candidates should not solely possess critical care experience; trauma experience is essential.
Duties:
Perform low to moderate risk procedures such as:
- Laceration repair
- IV access/IV insertion for peripheral lines
- Fracture and dislocation reductions (minimal/moderate displacement)
Perform high-risk procedures including: - G-tube placement - Endotracheal intubation - Cardioversion/defibrillation - LMA - Paracentesis - Chest tubes - Central and arterial line placement
The APP will manage and monitor trauma patients daily, with an average of 20-25 ICU patients per provider on the Trauma Service. Pediatric trauma experience is required due to low pediatric trauma volume.
Support:
- Collaborate with one other Trauma NP/PA on the day shift
- Support the trauma surgeon on call
Requirements:
- NCCPA or ANCC Certified
- Active California license with NP furnishing number for NPs
- Completion of California Controlled Substance Education Course (PAs only)
- CA DEA, ACLS, ATLS (must have at submission)
- Must maintain ACLS, BLS, and ATLS while on the assignment
- Experience working at a TJC-accredited hospital is required
- Clean malpractice/background is highly preferred
Credentialing Information:
- Estimated credentialing timeframe is within 30 days of a fully completed application
Preferred Candidate Details:
- Local candidates are highly preferred
- Must have active credentials at TJC-accredited facilities
