  • Clinical Role:

    • 07/01/2024 – Ongoing
    • Needs an APP locum for Ongoing Coverage beginning as soon as credentialed. Breakdown of Clinic Days/Sessions and/or OR Days: Variable, based on which shifts are uncovered by employed APP Schedule of Days/Times Needed To Work/ Shift Hours: ED APP shift 10a-10p (7 days/wk)
    • No on call
    • Procedures Provider Will Be Required to Perform: Variable, supervised by physician
    • Procedures Preferred: Suturing, Abscess drainage, fracture reduction & splint application
    • Patient Load: Variable - supervised and co-managed by physician. Usually around 15 per shift
    • No required fellowship but ED fellowship
    • Accepts Experience Over Fellowship
    • Certifications Required: Per network policy
    • Additional support staff: Co-management with ED physician per UVMHN network policy
    • Provider works with ED physician provider in ED under UVMHN network policy
    • Trauma Level of Work Location: Critical Access Hospital
    • EMR System: EPIC
    • Expectations of the Physician Culturally: ED Physicians are used to working with APPS in the ED at all other UVMHN facilities and have a good collegial relationship. Most patients will be co-managed with the physician (all during probationary period) but there is not hard limit to what the APPs may see and or care for within the scope of their training and credentialling. There is currently one full time APP working in the ED and also as a hospitalist and she covers approximately 30% of the available shifts
    • Seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department team. This is a full-time position that offers a dynamic work environment where you will assist and supplement our Emergency Department Physician staff
    • Key Responsibilities: Assess, diagnose, and treat patients, working closely with the Emergency Department Physician team. Respond promptly to calls from the nursing staff, effectively managing changes in patient conditions
    • Order and interpret tests and images, and prescribe medications as needed. Prepare patient discharges, including writing prescriptions, discharge summaries, arranging follow-up appointments, and educating patients and their families. Maintain a high standard of patient care, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the Emergency Department
    • Requirements: Qualified and licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Experience in an Emergency Room setting is preferred. Strong clinical skills with the ability to assess and manage patient care independently
