MUSC Health – Black River is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their team of Advanced Practice Providers. Candidates will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services for patients in the Pee Dee community.


The new hospital’s diagnostic technology and programs are geared to meet the needs of the communities we serve, so residents won’t have to travel elsewhere for quality care.

The MUSC Medical Center supports a patient-and family-centered approach to care. Family members are not considered visitors to a loved one who is hospitalized. They are key participants in support, decision-making, and care. We do not have visiting hour restrictions, and two people are always welcome at the bedside 24 hours a day.


Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with current licensure or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina.
  • FNP with current Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner (ENP) Certification
  • At least 2 years of Emergency Room experience as a PA or NP
  • Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners or as an Nurse Practitioner.
  • Requires certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). If ACLS is not current, provider must enroll and have received certificate by start date.
  • APRN or PA must maintain licenses, certifications, CNEs/CMEs, etc. as required by applicable policies and state law.
  • DHEC and DEA license

Position Highlights:

  • Evaluates and treats on the basis of history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guideline
  • Initiates referrals to other health care provides, and/or consults with the attending physician or the collaborating physician
  • Documents and bills for direct care provided
  • Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student; and facilitates the learning of other new team members
  • Credentialed for all 3 locations within the Pee Dee (Florence SC, Marion SC, Black River SC)
