Job Title: Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our Emergency Medicine team in Wilson, NC. The Nurse Practitioner will work under the supervision of our Emergency Medicine physicians to provide timely and compassionate care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute medical conditions. Responsibilities:

  • Assess and triage patients presenting to the Emergency Department (ED) with acute medical conditions, injuries, or trauma.
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Initiate and administer appropriate medical interventions, including medications, procedures, and treatments, in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with Emergency Medicine physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
  • Provide patient education and counseling on medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and continuing education activities to enhance clinical practice and patient outcomes.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, and state licensure requirements.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of North Carolina.
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Previous experience in emergency medicine or urgent care is highly preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and procedural skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations and make sound clinical judgments.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
