The Practice Experience

Step into a high-functioning 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), taking charge of nocturnal critical care management with dedicated, on-demand attending physician support.

• Advanced Clinical Scope: Direct nocturnal ICU management with an average census of 4 to 6 patients:

  • Perform bedside critical care procedures, including arterial line placement, central line placement, intubation, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis, chest tube placement, and arterial punctures

  • Manage acute patient decompensations, ventilator settings, and critical care admissions

  • Collaborate with attending physicians available via phone and on-call for in-person support as needed

  • Utilize Epic EMR for intraoperative orders, clinical documentation, and patient tracking

• Schedule & Lifestyle Advantage: Dedicated 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM night shifts across recurring 3- to 7-day blocks from late November 2026 through May 2027.

• Zero Call Burden: Complete post-shift disconnect with no call requirements.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner with extensive procedural competence and verified ICU experience (Note: Physician Assistants cannot be considered for this specific role).

• Credentials & Certification: Satisfactory completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program recognized by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing (CRNP).

• Licensure: Active, unencumbered Pennsylvania State Nurse Practitioner License required at time of consideration.

• Life Support Certifications: Active BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications required.

• Procedural Proficiency & Case Logs: Proven procedural experience with comprehensive case logs from the past 2 years demonstrating proficiency in arterial lines, central lines, intubation, lumbar punctures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and chest tubes.
