Locum Tenens – Critical Care NP/PA

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for ICU coverage in Bloomington, Illinois. This is a collaborative critical care environment with strong physician support and access to an e-ICU team. The ICU currently has 14 beds, with plans for expansion.

Schedule & Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts (days or nights)

• Shifts available Sunday through Saturday

• Weekend-only availability accepted

• Minimum commitment of 4 or more consecutive shifts per assignment

• ICU rounds at 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM

• Patient load: 5–10 patients per shift

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to critically ill ICU patients

• Participate in interdisciplinary ICU rounds

• Collaborate closely with on-site physicians, other APPs, and the e-ICU team

• Manage and coordinate patient care plans in a fast-paced ICU setting

Procedures

• Central Venous Catheter (CVC) placement

• Arterial line placement

• Hemodialysis (HD) line placement

• Intubations (optional, based on skill set and comfort level)

Requirements

• NP or PA with ICU experience

• Active Illinois license required

• Ability to commit to at least 4 consecutive shifts per assignment
