Candidate Requirements

  • Full-time night shift need
  • Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts weekly

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) for an assignment in a multi-specialty medical-surgical community hospital ICU. The provider will work alongside attending physicians to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
    • Typical APP-to-patient ratio: 10–15 ICU patients per APP
    • Attending MD available
  • Conduct ongoing patient assessments and implement appropriate interventions
  • Order entry and documentation using Cerner EMR
    • History & Physicals
    • Consultations
    • Event / Follow-up Notes
    • Procedure Notes
  • Interpret diagnostic testing
  • Communicate with ICU nursing staff
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary rounds each shift
  • Perform invasive procedures including, but not limited to:
    • Central line insertions (CVLs, vascaths, introducers)
    • Arterial line insertions
    • All procedures must abide by hospital MSO credentialing

Qualifications

  • If NP candidate: MUST BE ACUTE CARE CERTIFIED
  • ACNP or PA with valid national and state licensure
  • Minimum 1–2 years experience as an APP in an ICU setting
  • Proficiency with ICU procedures, specifically:
    • Central line insertions
    • Arterial line insertions
    • Case logs will be requested during credentialing

Shift Details

  • 7:00 pm – 7:30 am
Includes time for sign-out to the oncoming shift
