- Coverage Type: Clinical Only

- Clinical Shift Schedule: Full-time night shift coverage; three 12-hour shifts per week
- Shift Hours: 7:00p 7:30a (includes sign-out to oncoming shift) COVERAGE DATES
- Start date: March 1, 2026
- End date: May 31, 2026
PATIENT INFORMATION
- Patient Demographics: Adult ICU patients
- Patient Volume/Census: Typical APP-to-patient ratio of 1015 ICU patients per APP
- Admissions: Medical and surgical ICU admissions
- Rounding: Included each shift
- Phone Consults: As required
- Case Mix: Critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
FACILITY INFORMATION
- EMR System: Cerner
- Office Equipment Available: Standard ICU and procedural equipment
- Specialty Backup Available: Attending intensivists and specialty consultants
- Support Staff Available: ICU nursing staff and multidisciplinary care teams
- Reason for Coverage: Supplemental night shift coverage
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
- Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
- Case Logs Required: Yes, for central and arterial line procedures REQUIRED PROCEDURES
- Central venous line insertion (CVLs, vascaths, introducers)
- Arterial line insertion
- ICU patient assessment and management
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Licenses: Active state licensure required
- Board: Nurse Practitioners must be Acute Care Certified (ACNP) Physician Assistants must hold appropriate national certification
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of ICU experience as an APP
- Skills: Proficiency in ICU procedures including central and arterial line placement
- Other Qualifications: Ability to work independently in a high-acuity ICU environment; effective communication with physicians and nursing staff
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement treatment plans
- Collaborate with attending physicians on plan of care and clinical decision-making
- Interpret diagnostic studies and laboratory results
- Perform required invasive ICU procedures per credentialing
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds each shift
- Communicate effectively with ICU nursing staff and ancillary teams
- Document all patient care accurately and timely in the EMR
