JOB OVERVIEW

  • Coverage Type: Clinical Only
  • Coverage Period: 05/05/2026 07/31/2026
  • Clinical Shift Schedule: Full-time day shift; three 12-hour shifts weekly, 7:00a 7:30p COVERAGE DATES
  • May 5, 2026 through July 31, 2026

PATIENT INFORMATION
  • Patient Demographics: Adult patients
  • Patient Volume/Census: Typical APP-to-patient ratio of 1015 ICU patients per APP
  • Admissions: ICU admissions and transfers as clinically indicated
  • Rounding: Included
  • Phone Consults: As required
  • Case Mix: Critically ill medical and surgical ICU patients

FACILITY INFORMATION
  • EMR System: Cerner
  • Office Equipment Available: Standard ICU equipment
  • Specialty Backup Available: Attending physicians on-site
  • Support Staff Available: ICU nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams
  • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not specified
  • Additional Notes: Local candidates preferred REQUIRED PROCEDURES
  • Central venous line insertions including vascaths and introducers
  • Arterial line insertions
  • Invasive ICU procedures per medical staff office credentialing

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses: Active Georgia state license required
  • Board: National certification required; Nurse Practitioners must be Acute Care certified
  • Certifications: As required for ICU practice
  • Experience: Minimum 12 years of ICU experience as an Advanced Practice Provider
  • Other Qualifications: Proficiency with ICU procedures; case logs required during credentialing

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
  • Collaborate with attending physicians to develop and adjust plans of care
  • Conduct ongoing patient assessments and implement appropriate interventions
  • Enter orders and document care including H&Ps, consults, progress notes, and procedure notes
  • Interpret diagnostic tests and communicate findings
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds each shift
  • Perform invasive procedures in compliance with hospital credentialing standards
