Greenville, North Carolina is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to provide locums coverage for their Neuroscience ICU service. Candidates will need to come in the day before for orientation.
Applicants should have at least 1 year of experience.
The Neuroscience program uses a multidisciplinary approach to provide a range of services to include diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with neurological disorders. The hospital has excellent staff in nursing, radiology, general neurosurgery, endovascular neurosurgery and intervention, neuro-spine surgery, and neurology. The Neuroscience team takes great pride in their patient- and family-centered approach to care, which promotes optimization of patient outcomes.
Dates Coverage Is Needed: 7am-7pm
Tuesday 2/24 through Monday 3/2/2026
Monday 4/13 through Sunday 4/19/2026
Monday 4/27 – Sunday 5/3/2026

Inpatient responsibilities only
Required – Acute Care Certified
Provider must have the ability to perform ICU level care
Locums’ provider will respond to codes
No ER backup
No Call
Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS from AHA
Integrated EMR: EPIC
Avg total inpatient Census: 20
Avg # of patients/day/provider: 4
Avg # of admissions/day: 2

Highlights: Established clinical neuroscience team of 10 neurosurgeons, including dual-trained cerebrovascular specialists and 20 + neurologists including an interventional neurologist, 4 vascular neurologists, 4 Neurointensivist, and 13 subspecialty neurologists.
Large dedicated NSICU team inclusive of 4 physicians and 11 advanced practice providers who providing 24/7 coverage. Medical Center is a 974-bed level 1 trauma center and Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center.
