Job Responsibilities
Manage critically ill patients, including those with VV/VA ECMO, Mechanical Circulatory Support, Heart Transplant, Lung Transplant, LVAD, Post-op Cardiac Surgery.
Perform advanced interventions including arterial line placement, central line placement, pulmonary artery catheter placement, lumbar puncture, intubations, chest tube removal, and thoracentesis.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, evaluate, and implement patient care plans.
Participate in process improvement initiatives, research, and teaching projects.
Educate patients and families on care and resources, ensuring safe, high-quality care.
Serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
Qualifications
Graduate of an NP program approved by the State of Texas (Master’s preferred). Acute Care NP experience required for critical care settings.
Licenses/Certifications:
Current Texas RN license
Certification by ANCC, NCC, or AACN in a specialty area
BLS, ACLS (PALS/NRP if applicable), ATLS (for Trauma)
