- Other Details: A Pediatric ICU/Pediatric Transitional Care provider is needed for a 6-month contract. The schedule consists of 12-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, with PICU signout at 6:15 AM/PM and TCUP signout at 6:30 AM/PM, and no call requirements. The provider will work 12 shifts per month in a hospital setting, with patient ratios of 5:1 weekdays and 7:1 weekends for PICU days, 10:1 for PICU nights, 5–8:1 for TCUP days, and 16:1 for TCUP nights. The patient population is exclusively pediatric, in a 16–20 bed unit, with an average daily census of 12 patients. The PICU cares for critically ill children requiring continuous monitoring, while the TCUP manages moderate to high-complexity pediatric patients, including those recovering from transplants, surgeries, and requiring non-invasive respiratory support. Candidates must be board certified as a CPNP-AC for NPs, or hold a master's degree for PAs, with an active California license and DEA. A minimum of 1 year of PICU, PCICU, or pediatric hospitalist experience is required, though 3 years is preferred. Pediatric inpatient experience is mandatory, and pediatric oncology experience is preferred. COVID-19 vaccination (with booster) is required, with only medical or religious exemptions accepted. Orientation hours are billable, and all shifts can include day, night, and weekend coverage.

Job Responsibilities
- Manage pediatric patients with moderate to high complexity conditions.
- Attend 12-hour shifts with required signouts at 6:15 AM/PM (PICU) and 6:30 AM/PM (TCUP).
- Perform pediatric inpatient procedures and monitor post-operative specialty surgery patients.
- Document all care using the EPIC EMR system.
Qualifications
- Active California medical license required.
- Active DEA license required.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year of PICU, PCICU, or pediatric hospitalist experience required; 3 years preferred.
- COVID-19 vaccination with booster required (medical/religious exemptions accepted).
Working Hours

Skills
