Nurse Practitioner - Cardiology & Physician Assistant - Cardiology Locum Tenens Opportunity - Hickory, NC
Position Overview
Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking experienced cardiology Advanced Practice Providers for locum tenens coverage. This is an inpatient opportunity supporting a strong team of cardiologists in a growing cardiology department. The position involves inpatient rounding, consultations, and direct assistance to cardiologists. We are looking to fill 2-3 open needs for immediate coverage.
Key Responsibilities
Complete inpatient rounding on assigned patients
Perform cardiology consultations
Assist cardiologists with patient care and procedures
Manage approximately 10-12 patient encounters per shift
Handle admissions as needed (approximately 15 admissions on record)
Participate in on-call coverage with a 1:4 call ratio
Utilize Cerner EMR system for all documentation and patient records
Candidate Requirements
License: Active North Carolina license and NC DEA required
Board Certification: Board eligible minimum
Certifications: BLS certification required
Experience: Previous locums experience in inpatient cardiology capacity preferred
EMR Proficiency: Must have Cerner EMR experience

Travel Expense Information: Lodging up to $300 per night (includes taxes and fees), roundtrip airfare up to $800, rental car up to $75 per day, mileage reimbursement for up to 280 miles roundtrip. Prior written approval from corporate required for expenses exceeding these caps.
