Job description
This position provides advanced nursing care to patients with cardiovascular disease: developing treatment plans, educating patients on heart conditions and lifestyle modifications, and managing their care in collaboration with our team of cardiovascular physicians. There are also opportunities to pursue interests in sub-specialization areas such as structural heart, vascular disease and electrophysiology. The position is clinic-based with occasional general cardiology weekend call coverage at a single hospital with interventional cardiology physician back-up. From time to time, the NP may also be asked to assist with daytime hospital rounding and consults, depending on staffing needs.
Job Responsibilities
Conducting physical examinations and assessments, including history and examination, in the field or in clinic.
Creating treatment plans for patients.
Developing and implementing programs to prevent disease and educate patients.
Coordinating and managing patient care with other medical staff on site as well as referring physicians.
Qualifications
Current Nurse Practitioner certification with ANCC or AANP.
Minimum of two years Cardiovascular experience.
Maintain appropriate licensure / credentials in good standing.
