TMC Health is expanding our hospital-employed cardiology service line and recruiting Acute Care Nurse Practitioners to join our inpatient cardiology team. Our program is supported by expert physicians, highly skilled staff, and state-of-the-art diagnostic and procedural technology. TMC performs more cardiac procedures than any other hospital in Southern Arizona and operates one of the most active cardiac rehabilitation programs in the state.
This inpatient-only role focuses on evaluating and managing hospitalized patients with diagnosed or suspected cardiac conditions. The ACNP will work closely with the cardiology team to provide high-quality consultative and hospital-based care.
Compensation & Incentives:
• $20,000 sign-on bonus
• Competitive base compensation: $150,000–$160,000
Job Responsibilities
• Conduct focused histories, physical exams, and ongoing assessments
• Interpret cardiac diagnostics including EKGs, echocardiograms, cardiac biomarkers, CT imaging, and other testing
• Manage and monitor patients with heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, ACS, and post‑procedural needs
• Initiate and adjust evidence‑based treatment plans, including cardiac medications
• Coordinate care transitions with nursing, case management, and specialty teams
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow‑up
• Document all care in the EMR according to hospital and regulatory standards
• Participate in the call rotation as scheduled
Qualifications
Must hold Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) certification — this is required for inpatient cardiology.
Education:
• Master’s degree in Nursing
• Must be a Nurse Practitioner with Acute Care certification (ACNP)
Experience:
• Two (2) years of recent NP experience preferred, but not required
• RN experience in a cardiac specialty beneficial, but not required
Licensure & Certifications:
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or certification‑eligible
• Current Arizona RN and NP license with prescriptive authority
• Ability to obtain and maintain DEA registration
• Current BLS certification
• Must complete credentialing through TMC’s Professional Staffing Office prior to appointment
Working Hours
• Four 10‑hour shifts per week
• Call responsibilities included
