Job description OPEN POSITION:
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Cardiology



SCHEDULE:
- Full-Time
- 40 Hours per Week
- Monday to Friday
- No On-Call
- No Nights
- No Weekends
- No Holidays


COMPENSATION:
- $130,000 to $150,000 Base Salary, dependent upon experience

COMPANY PROFILE:
This organization is the largest physician-led outpatient medical practice in the greater New York City metro area with more than 35 offices serving 500,000 patients per year. In addition to robust primary care offerings, they also operate specialty service lines in gastroenterology, pediatrics, cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, podiatry, behavioral health, and more. Their staff of more than 400 physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants are supported by dedicated team members, with resources such as on-site laboratory and radiology services.


POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This is an outpatient position in which the nurse practitioner or physician assistant will specialize in cardiovascular medicine and complex imaging, providing medical services in collaboration with cardiology physicians.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

- conduct, record, and interpret stress test results
- provide office-based cardiology consultative services
- provide care for adult patients with cardiovascular complaints and conditions
- conduct and supervise cardiac diagnostic testing
- establish diagnoses of cardiovascular ailments and formulate plans of treatment
- assess patients’ responses to therapies
- diagnose and treat heart disease
- manage chronic cardiac illness as part of a preventative maintenance program
- educate patients and families on cardiovascular condition prevention and maintenance
- obtain and document patient histories, chief complaints, and reasons for visits
- conduct physical exams and evaluate patients
- order laboratory examinations and tests; interpret results
- prescribe medications
- collaborate with other clinicians and staff to ensure continuity of care
- attend staff educational programs and meetings

A variable number of patients per day are seen, based upon types of appointments scheduled and patient needs.

All visits are prepped and supported by dedicated clinical assistants.

The practice uses the Epic EHR.


REQUIREMENTS:
- New York NP or PA license
- DEA
- 1+ year of cardiology experience
- minimum experience of 100 cardiac stress tests
