Locum NP/PA Cardiology – Asheville, North Carolina

We are seeking an experienced Cardiology NP or PA for a night-shift inpatient cardiology locum assignment in Asheville, NC. This is a non-ICU role with strong specialty and hospitalist support.

Coverage Details

• Start Date: ASAP

• End Date: June 30, 2026

• Shift: Nights only

• Hours: 7:00pm – 7:00am

Practice Setting

• Setting: Inpatient

• Level of Care: General cardiology floor / step-down

• ICU Coverage: None

• EMR: Cerner

Clinical Responsibilities

• General cardiology floor coverage

• Daily rounding on all floor-level cardiology patients (admitted or consults)

• Perform new consults with attending cardiologist

• Write daily progress notes, event notes, admission H&Ps, consult notes, and discharge documentation

• Order medications, diagnostic testing, and procedures as indicated

Patient Population

• Primarily step-down and cardiology unit patients

• Non-ICU population

Support Staff

• Hospitalist Medicine and Cardiology teams support all patients

• Pulmonary Critical Care and Cardiovascular Surgery available as needed

Candidate Requirements (Required)

• Experienced Cardiology NP or PA

• Active North Carolina license

• Active North Carolina DEA

• Must be comfortable working overnight with physician collaboration
