Job description

Job description We are seeking a Cardiology Critical Care Nurse Practitioner for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in Maryland. This opportunity starts on Jan 26, 2026, and offers flexible scheduling options, including 7am to 7pm shifts with choices such as Monday through Friday, 7on/7off, or 3-4 days per week. The Nurse Practitioner will manage the CVICU step-down unit, with experience in CVICU step-down and cardiac surgery considered an advantage. Familiarity with Cerner EMR is required.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage patient care in the CVICU step-down unit
  • Coordinate and monitor patient recovery post-cardiac surgery
  • Assess, plan, and implement care strategies for cardiac critical care patients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Document all patient interactions and treatment plans in Cerner EMR

Additional Information
  • Maryland NP license required
  • Experience in CVICU step-down is required; cardiac surgery experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR preferred
