Tri-County Heart Institute is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a specialization in Cardiology and Women’s Heart Disease. The APRN will play a critical role in providing comprehensive cardiovascular care tailored specifically to the needs of women. This position includes managing health conditions, coordinating care, and supporting prevention and education efforts while working within a multidisciplinary team in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments based on patient age, gender, and health profile.
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests including CBCs, EKGs, and echocardiograms.
Provide direct care for acute and chronic conditions, focusing on women’s cardiovascular health.
Counsel patients on medications, side effects, interactions, and lifestyle modifications.
Monitor and respond to adverse drug reactions, especially in vulnerable populations.
Educate patients on disease prevention and self-management techniques.
Document all patient interactions thoroughly for accurate billing and continuity of care.
Maintain proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and meet documentation timelines.
Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, and other clinical staff to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Florida
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – required within 3 months of hire
HIPAA and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) Certifications
Previous cardiology or women’s health experience strongly preferred
