Job description

Certified Nurse Midwife – Locum | Mobile Clinic | Contract | Foley, MN $65–75/hour | Full-Time | 6-Month Contract Minimum | Start ASAP

We're seeking a skilled, mission-driven Certified Nurse Midwife to join a mobile healthcare initiative bringing high-quality prenatal and OB care directly to rural and underserved communities across Minnesota. This is not a traditional clinic role — it's an opportunity to practice with real autonomy, meaningful purpose, and the support of a collaborative clinical team that's reimagining how rural healthcare gets delivered.

About This Opportunity

This position is based out of a mobile clinic operating out of Foley, MN. You'll provide independent prenatal, postpartum, and OB care to patients who would otherwise face significant barriers to accessing quality pregnancy services. Working closely with remote collaborating OBs, MFMs, and telespecialists, you'll have the clinical backing you need while maintaining the independence that makes this role uniquely rewarding.

If you're a CNM who thrives outside traditional walls, believes rural patients deserve exceptional care, and is energized by innovation rather than intimidated by it — this is worth a serious look.

What You'll Be Doing

Clinical Care

  • Provide routine prenatal care across the full pregnancy continuum including postpartum care
  • Manage a range of pregnancy comorbidities including hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, gestational diabetes, and postpartum hemorrhage in coordination with remote collaborating OB or MFM
  • Perform point-of-care fetal ultrasound and transvaginal fetal ultrasound
  • Insert long-acting reversible contraception (LARC)
  • Perform manual vacuum aspiration
  • Manage Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) with DEA-compliant prescribing
  • Provide neonatal resuscitation when clinically indicated
  • Manage urgent labor presentations and acute complications in the field setting with live video support from collaborating OB
  • Provide acute stabilization and triage prior to transfer when clinically indicated
  • Deliver trauma-informed care throughout all patient interactions

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Collaborate in real time with remote OBs and telespecialists for consultation and clinical decision support
  • Coordinate referrals and transfers to L&D, MFM, NICU, or ED when clinically appropriate
  • Maintain detailed, accurate documentation via EMR

What You Bring

  • Active, unrestricted CNM license in Minnesota (required)
  • DEA registration (must obtain before start)
  • BLS certification (required)
  • NRP certification (required)
  • Experience providing independent prenatal care
  • Strong clinical judgment and confident independent decision-making
  • Experience collaborating with physicians and specialists
  • Comfort with telecollaboration and remote consultation models
  • Experience or genuine comfort practicing in nontraditional or mobile clinical environments
  • Commitment to serving rural and underserved communities
  • Innovative mindset and drive to continuously improve the systems and environments you work in

Schedule & Location

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Full-time, 6-month contract minimum
  • Mobile clinic based out of Foley, MN
  • Start: ASAP through September 2026

This organization was founded on the belief that geography should never determine the quality of care a patient receives. They're building real, sustainable healthcare solutions for rural Minnesota — through mobile infrastructure, strong regional partnerships, and a team that brings both clinical excellence and genuine heart to the work every day. If that mission resonates with you, we'd love to connect.
