- Setting: Medical Center + two clinics
- Type: Ambulatory and inpatient CNM role
- Clinic Shifts:
- Two 8-hour clinic days per week
- Clinic hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Inpatient / Hospital Coverage:
- One 24-hour L&D call shift per week
- Inpatient call hours: 7:00 a.m.–7:00 a.m., Monday–Sunday
- Workload:
- Mix of office visits and call
- Days and weekend shifts required
Required Certifications
- BLS (AHA required)
- Patient Volume: 18–20 patients per clinic day
- Patient Types: OB and GYN patients
- Support Staff: Medical Assistants
- Procedures & Duties:
- Labor management
- Vaginal deliveries
- First assist in cesarean sections
- IUD and Nexplanon insertions and removals
- Basket management
- Ambulatory OB/GYN clinic care
- CNMs work as part of the OB/GYN team, alongside OB/GYN physicians.
