Key Responsibilities:

Job Description:
We are hiring a skilled Certified Midwife for our inpatient team, focusing on labor and delivery in a high-autonomy setting. With 800 births per year at our hospital, this role offers the chance to manage routine deliveries independently while supported by a robust physician backup system.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 24-hour hospital coverage for labor and delivery, including:

Managing routine births without required OB/GYN presence.

Coordinating prenatal and postpartum care during shifts.

Handling obstetric emergencies with physician backup as needed.

Operate at the top of your license in Tennessee, with autonomy over low-risk cases and support for clinical decision-making from on-call physicians.
Qualifications:

Active certification as any type of Certified Midwife (e.g., CNM, CM, CPM) and Tennessee licensure as applicable.

Proficiency in labor and delivery, with a focus on patient safety and comfort.

Comfort with 24-hour shifts and emergency response preferred.
Support & Resources:

Physician on call 24/7/365 for high-risk cases or complications.

No onsite NICU; telehealth with Children’s Knoxville within 15 minutes, plus expedited transfers (air transport discussions with Niswonger-Ballad underway).
