Certified Nurse Midwife (Obstetrics/Gynecology)

The Certified Nurse Midwife will join Southridge OB/GYN, supporting patients in our Riverton, Utah location. We are a group practice of eight physicians and six midwives. Our midwives provide comprehensive health care for women, with a particular emphasis on wellness and patient choice. We support women in their childbirth decisions, whether it’s an unmedicated birth or epidural anesthesia.

The CNM will provide care in clinic, attend births, and round with mother/baby and antepartum patients in hospital. Our CNMs work at the top of their scope of licensure, admitting, caring for, and discharging patients from inpatient care. As a group practice sharing patients, we work in a highly collaborative model, consulting and collaborating with one another on a consistent basis.

This is a full time position and will be fully benefits eligible. Schedule will include rotating call taken in 24 hour shifts.

We highly prefer candidates with three or more years of CNM experience.

Job Essentials

Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are accountable for the provision of patient care at the top of licensure, within their scope of practice. Licensed, credentialed and privileged to perform such duties as:

  • Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease;
  • Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation;
  • Procedures as outlined by specialty, and referral for health problems;
  • Education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others;
  • Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan;
  • Consultation with other healthcare providers;
  • Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care;
  • Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes.


Advanced Practice Providers may also participate in research, utilize evidence-based practice to improve quality patient care, protocol development, care process model development, and best practice standards for assigned patient population throughout our organization.
