JOB SUMMARY:
The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) will provide comprehensive and compassionate care to expecting mothers and their families throughout the pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum periods. The CNM will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure a safe, empowering, and individualized birthing experience for each patient. The role demands a commitment to integrating evidence-based practice with a holistic approach to maternal and child health.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and completion of a Certified Nurse Midwife program.
Certification: Current CNM certification and licensure to practice in the state. CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation certification required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in midwifery or related field. Experience in a birthing center environment preferred.

  • Strong clinical skills in women's health, prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
  • Knowledge of current midwifery best practices and guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
  • Sensitivity to diverse cultures and ability to provide culturally competent care.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including on-call shifts.
  • Physical stamina to assist in labor and deliveries and provide patient care.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive prenatal assessments, monitor maternal and fetal health, and develop individualized care plans.
Offer guidance and counseling on prenatal nutrition, exercise, birth planning, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
Manage low-risk pregnancies and conduct deliveries in various settings, including birthing centers and home births.
Collaborate with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals in the management of high-risk pregnancies and when medical interventions are necessary.
Provide postpartum care to mothers and infants, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
Educate and support families in their transition to parenthood.
Participate in community outreach programs to promote maternal and child health.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to team training and education.
