Job description
We are seeking experienced CRNAs for ongoing locum tenens coverage at a high-acuity tertiary care hospital. This position offers flexible scheduling with 12- and 16-hour shifts, and optional call opportunities.
Providers will work in a supervised care team model (4:1) supported by 24/7 anesthesia aides. The patient population includes adolescents through geriatrics. CRNAs do not perform regional blocks, epidurals, spinals, or A-lines.

Job Responsibilities
Provide pre-anesthesia assessments and develop patient-specific anesthesia care plans
Monitor patients throughout procedures and manage post-anesthesia recovery
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards for anesthesia administration
Participate in required orientation and credentialing processes
Respond to emergency situations and assist with airway management as needed
Maintain compliance with all licensure, certification, and continuing education requirements
Contribute to a safe and efficient OR environment with the support of 24/7 anesthesia aides
Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) license
Current ACLS and BLS certifications (Tier 2 – required upon hire)
Minimum 1 year of CRNA experience in a hospital or surgical setting
Ability to manage anesthesia care in a supervised care team model
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
Skills checklist required at time of submission
Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
Willingness to participate in 2-day paid orientation and complete credentialing (90–120 days)
Working Hours
Minimum of 36 hours per week
2–3 weeks per month required
Shifts available: 12-hour and 16-hour options
Sample shift times:
6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
6:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Call coverage is optional, including:
8-hour weeknight beeper call
12-hour Saturday beeper call
Occasional overnight shifts (not required)
Skills
Strong understanding of anesthesia pharmacology and patient monitoring
Skilled in conducting pre-operative assessments and developing anesthesia care plans
Ability to monitor and manage patients during and after anesthesia administration
Comfortable working with adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations
Familiarity with high-acuity / tertiary care environments
Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced clinical settings
Strong documentation and EMR navigation skills (Epic experience preferred)
Quick response to intraoperative changes and emergency situations
Adherence to safety protocols, infection control, and hospital policies
