Locums – Columbia, South Carolina, CRNA Job (Willing to License)

Clinical Role:

• Start Date: June 22, 2026

• Contract Length: 13 weeks

• 50-mile radius rule – no local candidates accepted

• Schedule: 40-hour work week (must be able to work every week; no part-time candidates)

• Schedule options include:

  • 5x8s

  • 4x10s

  • 3x12s

• Providers must be available to work 4 weeks per month

Practice Setting:

• Hospital – Medical Center and Ambulatory Surgery Centers

• Rotation to ambulatory surgery centers expected

• Lexington system includes three ASCs located in:

  • Lexington

  • Irmo

  • Northeast Columbia

• Expect travel to an ASC up to once per week (occasionally twice)

• If cases end early at the surgery center, providers may finish their shift there

• If cases end before the shift is completed, providers will return to the main hospital to finish the shift

Department Overview:

• Large anesthesia department consisting of:

  • 70 CRNAs

  • 15 anesthesiologists

• Medical Direction Care Team model

• Approximately 150 anesthetics per day across:

  • Main OR

  • Ambulatory surgery centers

  • Interventional radiology

  • Cath Lab

  • EP Lab

  • OB

  • MRI and other procedural areas

• 31 total ORs (approximately 25 used daily)

• 9 non-OR anesthesia sites including MRI, CT, IR, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, and OB

• Support staff includes anesthesia techs

Patient Population:

• Adult to geriatric patients

• Very limited pediatric cases (travel CRNAs will not be assigned pediatric cases)

Common Case Types:

• Gynecology

• Orthopedics

• Urology

• Vascular surgery

Equipment and Systems:

• EMR: Epic (highly preferred)

• GlideScopes available

• Alaris IV pumps

• Draeger anesthesia machines

• No regional or block skills required

Requirements:

• NBCRNA Board Certification – Required

• Active South Carolina license – Required (compact license accepted)

• Willing to license candidates with a compact license

• ACLS, BLS, and PALS – Required

• Minimum 2 years of experience – Required

• Credentialing timeframe: 60–90 days
