Recruiting Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) for a Military Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Quick snapshot:

  • Start date: 04/01/2026
  • Contract: 6-month base, with multiple 12-month extensions + a final 6-month option
  • Schedule: Posted ~60 days in advance; minimum 1 shift/month; typically 1–2 weekends/month
  • Shift days: Monday–Sunday
  • Charting: MHS Genesis

Job Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

Full‑scope anesthesia care for routine, complex, and trauma cases in a Level I environment
Pre‑anesthesia assessment, plan, induction/maintenance, airway & ventilatory management
Post‑anesthesia care oversight and documentation to federal/MTF standards
Strict HIPAA/Privacy Act compliance and facility protocols

Qualifications

Who’s a great fit:

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program and an accredited nurse anesthesia program
License/Certs: Active state RN/CRNA license; BLS and ACLS (PALS if your scope requires peds)
Experience:

  – At least 1 year of anesthesia practice within the last 2 years 

  – Recent experience (≥3 months in the last 12) with high‑acuity/critical or trauma patients 

  – Pediatric anesthesia experience (≥12 months in the last 24) 

  – Comfortable with central venous catheter and arterial line placement 

  – Broad anesthesia techniques (e.g., GETA, subarachnoid/spinal, epidurals)

Health & compliance: TB screening (questionnaire/PPD or CXR as applicable); current health certificate (per state/contract); meets all federal/state/local requirements
Age: 18 or older

Working Hours

Monday - Sunday
Hours will be scheduled with and approved by Amergis meeting minimum qualification standards of Department Chief
CRNA must work a minimum of 1 shift per month.
CRNAs must work an average of 1-2 weekends per month.
1.00 FTE = Averages 160 Regular Hours per Calendar Month
0.50 FTE = Averages 80 Regular Hours per Calendar Month
