JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: CRNA – Anesthesia
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Charleston, SC
• Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient
• Coverage Type: Clinical Only
• Coverage Period: 04/06/2026 – Ongoing
• Clinical Shift Schedule: TBD
COVERAGE DATES
• Starting 04/06/2026 – Ongoing
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Pediatrics
• Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 3–5 cases per day
• Case Mix: Pediatric general anesthesia cases including GI, ophthalmology, plastics, and dental procedures; no burn, cardiac, or neurosurgical cases
FACILITY INFORMATION
• Trauma Level: Pediatric Level I Academic Trauma Center
• EMR System: Epic
• Office Equipment Available: Eight operating suites, two cardiac cath labs, two endoscopy suites, minor procedure rooms, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, radiation oncology, and heme-oncology procedure areas
• Specialty Backup Available: Anesthesia and pediatric specialty teams onsite
• Support Staff Available: Full operating room and procedural support staff
• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental locum coverage
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90 days
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not covered; airline and parking expenses not reimbursed
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Pediatric general anesthesia administration
• Anesthesia care for GI, ophthalmology, plastics, and dental procedures
• Anesthesia coverage for non-operating room locations including imaging and procedure areas
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active South Carolina license required
• Board: NBCRNA certification required
• Experience: Minimum 1 year pediatric anesthesia experience required
• Other Qualifications: Epic experience required; candidate must reside greater than 60 miles from facility per MUSC radius rule
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide anesthesia services in a medically directed model
• Deliver anesthesia care for pediatric surgical and procedural cases
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgical teams
• Ensure safe anesthesia administration and patient monitoring
• Document anesthesia care and patient encounters in Epic EMR
