Locums CRNA | Virginia Beach, Virginia - Willing to License

A large, multi-site health system in Virginia Beach, Virginia is seeking a CRNA for locum tenens coverage. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling, a care team model, and exposure to high-acuity cases in a fast-paced Level I trauma environment.

Assignment Details
Start date: ASAP (January 5 preferred, open to later starts)
Contract length: 1 year, through the end of 2026

Location
Providers will float between all three locations
One Level I Trauma Center and two community hospitals

Schedule and Shifts
8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts available
Minimum of 1 shift per week
Open to 1–2 weeks per month
Local providers welcome

Call Requirements
Must be open to call
Maximum of 1–2 call shifts per month
Most likely no call
All call is beeper call (additional details pending)

Practice Environment
Level I trauma experience required
Fast-paced clinical setting
700-bed hospital system
100% supervised care team model (1:4)
Support staff includes 30+ anesthesiologists and 70+ full-time CRNAs

Case Mix
Large vascular
Neuro
High-risk OB/GYN
Orthopedic
General surgery
Thoracic
Limited pediatrics
Locums will not be required to perform pediatric or cardiac cases

Special Procedures
CRNAs administer their own medications
Placement of epidurals, spinals, and arterial lines
Some obstetrics and trauma cases
Outpatient surgery focus
May include arterial catheters, lumbar epidural catheters, and spinal anesthesia
No brachial plexus or other regional anesthesia blocks required

Patient Volume
Varies depending on location

Licensing and Requirements
Virginia license or compact license preferred
Open to licensing
Some Level I trauma experience required
DEA not required

Credentialing
Credentialing timeframe: 90–120 days
Emergency credentialing possible in 30–45 days

EMR: Cerner

Vaccination Policy
COVID vaccine not required
