Locums CRNA | Norfolk, Virginia - Willing to License

A large, well-supported health system in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking a CRNA for locum tenens coverage. This is a high-acuity, fast-paced opportunity within a Level I trauma environment, offering flexible scheduling, minimal call, and a strong care team model across multiple sites.

Assignment Overview
Start date: ASAP (January 5 preferred, open to later starts)
Contract length: 1 year, through the end of 2026

Location
Providers will float between three locations
Includes one Level I Trauma Center and two community hospitals

Schedule
8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts available
Minimum commitment of 1 shift per week
Open to 1–2 weeks per month
Local providers welcome

Call
Must be open to call
Maximum of 1–2 beeper call shifts per month
Most likely no call

Practice Environment
Level I trauma experience required
Fast-paced clinical setting
700-bed hospital system
100% supervised care team model (1:4)
Robust staffing with 30+ anesthesiologists and 70+ full-time CRNAs

Case Mix
Large vascular
Neuro
High-risk OB/GYN
Orthopedic
General surgery
Thoracic
Limited pediatrics
Locums will not perform pediatric or cardiac cases

Special Procedures
CRNAs administer their own medications
Epidurals, spinals, and arterial line placement
Some obstetrics and trauma cases
Outpatient surgery focus
Includes arterial catheters, lumbar epidural catheters, and spinal anesthesia
No brachial plexus or other regional anesthesia blocks

Licensing and Requirements
Virginia or compact license preferred
Open to licensing
Some Level I trauma experience required
DEA not required

Credentialing
Standard credentialing: 90–120 days
Emergency credentialing possible in 30–45 days
