Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) – Locum Opportunity
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Start Date: (as soon as credentialed)
Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, 14- and 16-hour shifts available
Preferred Schedule: 3x12s per week (flexible combinations to reach 40 hours)
Guaranteed Work Week: 36–38 hours
Overview
A Level I Trauma Center is seeking experienced CRNAs for ongoing locum coverage. This opportunity offers exposure to a wide range of complex surgical cases in a medically directed care team model. CRNAs must be able to handle high-acuity patients and work collaboratively with supervising physicians.
Responsibilities
- Deliver anesthesia care under medical direction
- Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients
- Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitor patient physiological condition throughout procedures
- Provide clinical interventions as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of CRNA experience
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Active Pennsylvania license required (RN compact licenses not accepted)
- Will consider licensing candidates with full-time availability or two part-time candidates equaling 1.0 FTE
- Minimum commitment: 2 days per week or 2 weeks per month
- Credentialing timeframe: 45–60 days (locum temps may be available with similar timeline)

- 12 ORs plus 8 offsite locations
- Medical direction model with 1:3 MD-to-CRNA ratio
- Case types include: general, ortho, ENT, neuro, trauma, thoracic, cardiac (open heart), vascular, urology, transplants, EP, and GI
- EPIC EMR system
