Job description
We are seeking a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide locum services for a community hospital in the Los Angeles metro area. This is an excellent opportunity for providers seeking consistent night coverage, exposure to a high-acuity patient population, and long-term placement potential. Coverage is needed beginning March 2026 for a 26-week contract with ongoing need until permanent staff is hired.

Setting: Acute care community hospital
Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours (7:00 PM โ 7:00 AM); weekdays and weekends
Coverage: Scheduled shifts only; no call required
Shift Commitment: Full-time preferred; multiple scheduling models available to ensure 7 shifts/week coverage
Support Services: Care team model with 1:1 physician partner; only one CRNA on at a time
Patient Population: Adults only; underserved community, primarily ASA 3+ patients, many Spanish-speaking
Procedures: OB anesthesia is essential (c-sections, epidurals); additional bread-and-butter cases include GI, neurology, GYN, IR; no hearts or transplants
Charting: Cerner
๐ Requirements:
Board Certification: NBCRNA required
License: Active California license required (not willing to license)
Experience: Minimum 2 years required; must be comfortable with independent pre-ops and patient workups
Charting Experience: Cerner required
๐ Additional Notes:
Average case volume: 2โ3 epidurals/day, 1 c-section, and 5โ6 cases per shift
Scheduling is set by committee approximately 5 months in advance
Credentialing timeframe is 4+ months; emergency privileging options may be available
Supervisory reference from the past year required for submission
