Position Overview
One of our Partner hospitals located in eastern South Carolina, is seeking a full-time locum Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) beginning January 2026. This role offers a steady weekday schedule, optional call coverage, and the opportunity to practice autonomously in a CRNA-only model (no anesthesiologist on site).
The ideal candidate is comfortable managing general, orthopedic, endoscopy, and obstetric cases, and preferably skilled in performing epidurals. Orientation is mandatory and must be completed in-person on a weekday prior to the first scheduled shift.
Assignment Highlights

Assignment Dates: January – March 2026 (initial 3-month term; possible extension)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (4×10-hour schedule may be considered)

Call: Negotiable (from home; optional based on provider preference)

Case Mix: Ortho, endoscopy, general surgery, OB; epidurals preferred

Daily Volume: Approximately 10–15 surgical cases per day

Staffing Model: 2–3 CRNAs on site; surgeon supervision; no anesthesiologist on site

EMR: Standard McLeod system (not Epic)

Orientation: Required ½-day on-site session (Mon–Fri only; cannot be completed on weekends or holidays)

Pay Ranking: Top 10–15% for South Carolina CRNA locum assignments based on 2025 national market data

HPA Healthcare: Joint Commission–certified agency
Job Responsibilities

Provide anesthesia for general, orthopedic, endoscopy, and obstetric cases.

Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations and manage anesthesia throughout the perioperative period.

Place and manage labor epidurals (preferred but not required).

Safely manage airways, monitor vital signs, and ensure smooth emergence and recovery.

Collaborate with surgeons and perioperative staff in a CRNA-only model.

Participate in call coverage if agreed upon (home call; limited callback frequency).

Maintain accurate, compliant documentation per McLeod Health and HPA Healthcare policy.
Skills & Experience

Active South Carolina APRN/CRNA license (required at name clear)

NBCRNA certification (required)

BLS and ACLS certifications (required)

Minimum 1 year of independent CRNA experience (rural or CRNA-only environment preferred)

Comfortable with OB and epidurals (preferred)

Clean background and NPDB self-query within 30 days required
