Job description
- A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is needed to provide ongoing anesthesia services at a Level 1 trauma hospital.
- The role includes a wide range of surgical and procedural anesthesia cases in a supervised practice setting.
- This is an extended locum opportunity starting in December, covering while new hires are being recruited.
Job Responsibilities
Administer regional, spinal, and epidural anesthesia as required.
Manage ventilation intraoperatively and ensure safe airway management in the OR.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative staff to deliver high-quality care.
Document all patient care accurately within Epic EMR.
Qualifications
Illinois State License (or willing to obtain) – Required
ACLS & BLS – Required
Must be local – mileage only reimbursed – Required
Working Hours
Limited 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM option may be considered
No on-call coverage required
Opportunity for additional shifts if desired
Skills
Experience with plexus and minor nerve blocks (though rare in practice)
Strong knowledge of ventilation management in the OR setting
Ability to work effectively in a supervised anesthesia care team model
Familiarity with Epic EMR
