JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Columbia, SC
• Service Setting: Hospital
• Coverage Type: Clinical + Call
• Coverage Period: 02/02/2026 – Ongoing
• Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible schedule (no set schedule available)
• On-Call Shift Schedule: Cardiac call as assigned (very minimal)
COVERAGE DATES
• Starting February 2, 2026 (ongoing)
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Adults
• Admissions: Yes
• Rounding: Included as part of anesthesia services
• Case Mix: Adult cardiac open heart, major vascular, cardiac and thoracic anesthesia; may include general anesthesia and ASC cases
FACILITY INFORMATION
• EMR System: Epic
• Office Equipment Available: Standard anesthesia equipment
• Specialty Backup Available: Cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery
• Support Staff Available: Anesthesia care team
• Reason for Coverage: Backfill FTE
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90 days
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Transportation: Car rental or mileage reimbursed; airfare not routinely covered (one round-trip ticket may be considered at 6 weeks)
• Malpractice Insurance: Covered
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Adult open heart anesthesia
• Major vascular anesthesia
• Cardiac and thoracic anesthesia
• General anesthesia
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active South Carolina CRNA license
• Board: Active CRNA certification
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Experience: Recent and significant experience with adult open heart cardiac cases
• Other Qualifications: Willingness to take minimal cardiac call
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide anesthesia services for adult cardiac open heart procedures
• Manage anesthesia for major vascular, cardiac, and thoracic cases
• Participate in general anesthesia and ASC cases as needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, perfusionists, and anesthesia team members
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Epic EMR
