Job description
A hospital-based anesthesia team in the Southeastern United States is seeking CRNAs or CAAs for ongoing locum tenens coverage at a Level 1 Trauma Center. This opportunity offers a medical direction model with strong anesthesiologist support, predictable daytime schedules, and no call or weekend responsibilities.
Providers will support a broad mix of surgical cases including neuro, urology, ophthalmology, and general surgery in a well-supported perioperative environment. No OB or open cardiac cases, and blocks are primarily handled by physicians.
This is an excellent opportunity for anesthesia providers seeking consistent locum work in a high-acuity yet well-supported clinical setting.
Job Responsibilities
Perform pre-operative patient evaluations and anesthesia planning
Administer and manage anesthesia including induction, maintenance, and emergence
Monitor patients throughout procedures and ensure safe anesthesia delivery
Perform airway management and intraoperative patient monitoring
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff to coordinate patient care
Support a variety of surgical services including neuro, urology, ophthalmology, and general surgery
Participate in a team-based anesthesia care model within a Level 1 trauma center environment
Complete post-anesthesia patient assessments and documentation in EPIC
Qualifications
Active or eligible South Carolina medical license
Active DEA and South Carolina Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum of 1 year of anesthesia experience required
Experience in a trauma or high-acuity hospital environment preferred
Ability to provide recent case logs from the past 12 months
Clean malpractice history preferred for credentialing purposes
Working Hours
7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (8-hour shifts) preferred
7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts) may also be available
Monday – Friday schedule
No call responsibilities
No weekend coverage required
Flexible scheduling available; providers able to commit to at least one week per month preferred
Skills
Proficiency in airway management and anesthesia induction/emergence techniques
Ability to perform thorough pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments
Experience working within a team-based anesthesia care model
Comfortable managing a variety of surgical cases in a hospital setting
Ability to respond effectively in high-acuity or trauma environments
Strong communication and collaboration skills with surgical and perioperative teams
Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (EPIC preferred)
