Hills & Dales General Hospital is a 25 bed critical access hospital located in the thumb of Michigan. Hills & Dales has ten physician clinic locations, three physical & rehabilitation clinics, and state of the art technology throughout the hospital. Located in a rural setting, Hills & Dales has the opportunity to provide comprehensive care so a patient does not have to travel to get the services they need. Hills and Dales is located in a centralized location which allows easy access to a larger city as well as easy access to Lake Huron depending on what hobbies you enjoy.
Hills & Dales General Hospital is an HFAP accredited hospital and offers a unique opportunity for physicians to practice medicine. Physicians are employed by Hills & Dales yet they practice in their own clinics. With a combination of family, internal, and pediatric physicians, as well as general and orthopedic surgeons, Hills & Dales is able to offer comprehensive care to their patients. Additionally, there is an onsite specialty clinic where patients can see cardiac, OB/GYN, Pain Management, and other specialty physicians at a minimum of once a month. Combined with state of the art technology in the laboratory, radiology, and respiratory departments, patients can be confident they are receiving the best care, close to home. Hills and Dales uses one of the top EMR systems in the nations called Epic.

Hills & Dales General Hospital is a 25-bed, non-profit acute care facility located in Cass City, Michigan.
The idea to build a hospital in Cass City began in 1943 as something for a post-war project. Funds for the project were raised from the community over the next several years and construction of the new facility began in the late 1950’s.
On August 15, 1960 Hills & Dales General Hospital opened its doors. It had a bed capacity of 57 beds with six active physicians on the medical staff. In April 1972 the west wing opened which increased the hospital’s bed capacity to 65. The new wing also included a medical library, lab, x-ray, pharmacy, physical therapy and offices. In addition, a medical office building with the capacity to house four physician offices was built.
In January 2006 Hills & Dales began a major expansion and renovation project that was completed in April 2007. The expansion provided new state of the art surgical suites (including large pre-op and post-op areas), a fully equipped state of the art lab, much needed office space and multiple, very needed conference rooms for employee and community education activities. In addition, the project will upgrade our Emergency Room, Registration and Diagnostic Imaging areas.
Today Hills & Dales General Hospital remains a very well equipped, modern, 25-bed community hospital offering a wide range of services to the residents of Tuscola, Huron and Sanilac counties. With the latest technology including digital mammography, 128 slice CT scanner, upgraded OR equipment and a highly trained and competent physician and support staff; Hills & Dales General Hospital continues to be committed to providing quality care close to home.
Our medical staff includes 13 active staff physicians encompassing the areas of Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, General Surgery, and Orthopedics. These physicians are accompanied by 6 Board Certified Nurse Practitioners. In addition we have 40 physicians on our consulting staff including the specialties of Anesthesia, Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Oncology/Hematology, Pathology, Pain Management Physical Medicine, Podiatry, Psychiatry, Rheumatology and Urology.
