Our client, a reputable behavioral health group in Harrisburg, PA, is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist to join their team on a locum or permanent basis. This group of experts offers a range of services in adult behavioral health, which includes mental health and/or addiction recovery services. This position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment focused on providing services both in the community and in a private office setting, offering treatment and support that focuses on recovery.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct psychiatric and medical assessments and treatment.

Provide clinical supervision, education, and training to the team.

Supervise medication management and psychiatric and medical treatment policies and procedures.

Perform psychiatric assessments and present assessment results at team meetings and treatment plan meetings.

Offer individual, group, and family supportive therapy, as well as psychotherapy and illness education.

Prescribe psychotropic medications and conduct regular assessments of therapeutic responses and side effects.

Collaborate with registered nurses in assessing client physical health and coordinating medical treatments with psychiatric treatment.

Provide ongoing support, counseling, and education to team members and family members of clients.

Offer crisis assessment and management during regular work hours, on-site, over the phone, and as on-call backup during other hours.

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Licensed in PA
Strong clinical skills and experience providing treatment to persons with severe and persistent mental illness.
Clinical supervisory experience is preferred.
Understanding of the characteristics and problems of adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses and be knowledgeable about the ACT model.
Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel within the coverage area.

Working Hours

Minimum of 32 hours a week.
Monday-Friday
No weekends
